Children and adults riding bicycles through a painted practice course at the Safer Streets Practice Park outside the East Community Center. The course features miniature road markings, bike lanes, crosswalks, and traffic cones under a tree with autumn leaves.

On Thursday, October 3, we were proud to host the official ribbon cutting for the new Safer Streets Practice Park at the East Community Center!

This innovative park — the first of its kind in Littleton — was made possible through a collaboration between the City of Littleton, Littleton Public Schools, and the East Community Center. The space provides children and families with a safe, hands-on environment to practice biking and walking skills. Complete with miniature roads, bike lanes, and real traffic signs, the park helps riders gain confidence and learn the rules of the road before heading out into the community.

Following the ribbon cutting, Bicycle Colorado led a free “Learn to Ride” class for kids, drawing a crowd of enthusiastic new cyclists. The event also kicked off Littleton’s Walk and Bike to School Day celebrations, promoting active and safe transportation for students.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting addition to our community — a place where learning, safety, and fun come together for all ages!
